PM Kusum Solar Pumps & Rural Micro-Grids

Stand-alone and grid-connected solar pumps, feeder solarisation, and micro-grids for farmers and rural communities — with 30–50% central support.

PM Kusum at a glance

Solar power for agriculture & rural India.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM Kusum) promotes solar power in the agriculture and rural sectors — cutting diesel and grid dependence, lowering irrigation costs, and enabling rural solar generation.

Component B

Stand-alone solar agriculture pumps for farms without a reliable grid connection.

Component C

Solarisation of existing grid-connected agriculture pumps and feeders.

Subsidy structure

Central + state support, with a beneficiary share.

PM Kusum provides Central Financial Assistance (CFA) alongside state support and a beneficiary contribution.

Most states

  • 30% central subsidy (CFA)
  • 30% state subsidy
  • 40% farmer / beneficiary share

North-East, hilly & island UTs

  • Up to 50% central subsidy
  • At least 30% state subsidy
  • 20–30% farmer / beneficiary share

Some components can also be implemented with 30% central support and a 70% beneficiary share, without state subsidy — depending on the route and component.

Applications

From single farms to village clusters.

Individual solar pumps

Irrigation pumps that replace diesel or grid pumps on individual farms.

Feeder solarisation

A group of pumps on a single feeder supported through a shared solar plant.

Small solar micro-grids

Clusters of farms or villages, sometimes with storage, for more reliable power.

DNOVO Green focuses on East and North-East India, where higher central subsidies and strong irrigation needs make solar pumps particularly attractive.

Our role

From design to long-term performance.

DNOVO Green supports farmers, cooperatives and agencies through the PM Kusum process.

Technical Design

Pump sizing, PV array design, mounting structure and balance of system.

DISCOM Coordination

Coordination with DISCOMs and state implementing agencies.

Subsidy Documentation

Technical specifications, forms and vendor coordination for the subsidy.

Install & Commission

Installation, commissioning and clean handover on site.

O&M Tie-Ups

Operation & maintenance tie-ups for long-term performance.

We leverage field experience from 100+ PMKSY micro-irrigation projects to design systems for real-world conditions.

Why North-East & East India?

Where solar pumps make the biggest difference.

East and North-East India face high irrigation costs, unreliable grid supply in many areas, and significant groundwater dependence. At the same time:

This combination makes solar pumps and micro-grids especially impactful in our focus geography.
